โฆ Synopsis
Sprinkler drops approach the wet-bulb temperature of the air as they move through it. A fraction (r/) of the change in heat capacity of the drop during this process is transferred to spray evaporation. It is shown that r/is a strongly increasing function of the water temperature and may be of the order of 0.8 for nozzle temperatures of 50ยฐC.

## Abstract The temperature effect of the surrounding environment on mean steady aerial water evaporation in sprinkler irrigation is investigated. An experimental setโup was designed and built to work at opportune operating conditions holding all the other variables constant to minimise the experim
Performance assessment is an increasingly relevant concept in present-day irrigation systems. To this end some indicators have been proposed for comparing actual performance with established design criteria. Concerning sprinkler irrigation, evaluation of the jet losses due to environmental condition
