✦ Synopsis

Derivations of an expression for the generalised outgoing 'adsorption' time-lag pertaining to transport through a slab membrane made by [Rutherford and Do, Review of time lag permeation technique as a method for characterisation of porous media and membranes, Adsorption 3 (1997) 283] and by [Ash et al., Sorption and surface flow in graphitized carbon membranes. II. Time-lag and blind pore character, Proc. Roy. Soc. London, Ser. A, 304 (1968) 407] are not in agreement. Causes for the discrepancy are identified. Two extensions of the generalised procedure are given with particular attention being paid to L, the time-lag difference.

In this note, new criteria for the global asymptotic stability and the global exponential stability of a class of uncertain time-lag systems with time-varying delays are proposed. A numerical example is given to illustrate our main results.

Necessary and sufficient conditions for dead-beat and complete controllability for a class of generalised Hammerstein systems are presented. Since the system's structure is very close to linear, only linear algebra is used for the controllability test. The test is very simple and easy to use. A clos

## Abstract This paper is focused on the lag time of flow confluence. Lag is described empirically by the precipitation factor in hydrological modelling, but the traditional way to establish the relationship between lag and intensity is not very satisfactory in arid and semi‐arid regions. A total 2
