β¦ Synopsis
Raptis [1] has studied the flow of a polar fluid where through a porous medium bounded by an infinite horizontal porous plate with constant suction applied R~,2 = at the wall. The analysis is based on the generalised Darcy's law, taking into account the total angular velocity of the fluid particles [2,3]. However, the expressions for velocity distribution obtained in [1] are C1 = erroneous and, thus, lead to misleading results.
In this note, we present corrections to the velocity distribution and the consequent interpretation of the results. The corrected expressions for the velocity and C2 angular velocity for the flow discussed in [1] are:
