Leaf and air temperatures normally differ, but the published evidence suggests a tendency for equality at some temperature in the vicinity of 33Β°C for thin-leaved plants, when exposed to bright sunshine and not under unusual water stress. Below the temperature of equality, such leaves tend to be warmer than the air at about midday.
