✦ Synopsis
The authors present an algorithm which applies to a large class of minimum-time problems. It can be applied to any minimumtime norm-constraint problem for which the control is explicitly characterized by a separating hyperplane. It can also be extended to simple linear distributed systems, under certain conditions.
The algorithm determines the optimal control and is a significant improvement on current methods, based on solving the sequence of minimum-effort problems. Its operation is illustrated by a fourth-order aircraft-landing system application.
