✦ Synopsis

An approximate method for solving transport problems, called the 'non-integral' method, has been presented. The method is based on the criterion that the total error over the dcmain of interest which results from int/oducing an approximate solution into the governing equation of a transport problem must be kept to a minimt~n. The method was demonstrated in three examples. Ccm~oarisons of the results with oorresponding existing solutions were given.
