β¦ Synopsis
The 2-D velocity-vorticity formulation of the Stokes equations is considered in this work. A rigorous study of the variational framework and the equivalence between the standard velocity-pressure formulation and such velocity-vorticity formulation is presented. A symmetric uncoupled solution scheme is derived by discovering a handy property of the curl operator.
