โœฆ Synopsis

This paper proposes a new wave digital filter derived from doubly terminated LC-ladder networks by replacing each series or shunt amlE element of the ladder by its equivalent digital two-port. It is shown that such two-ports may be cascaded without the use of adapters defined by Fettweis (1). A number of realizations of the wave dig&al two-ports, which are canonic with respect to both multipliers and delays, have been obtained. Also a realization which is canon& with respect to multipliers only is given and an example considered using this realization. The sensitivity of this jilter with respect to the multiplier coeficient change8 due to finite word length is compared with the conventional cascaded digital filter and also the one proposed by Renner and Gupta. It is found that the proposed Jilter appears to be a more desirable form of implementation than the conventional cascade form and cornparable to that of Renner and Gupta (2). ## Abstract The theory of real wave digital filters (WDFs) is extended to complex WDFs. A fundamental requirement turns out to be that of oneโ€realness, a complex impedance in the reference filter being called oneโ€real if it is real for ฮจ = 1, where ฮจ is the equivalent complex frequency. ## Abstract In this paper, a new type of slowโ€wave 1D PBG microstrip bandโ€pass filter with a halfโ€wavelength linear resonator is introduced. ## Abstract A method is described which allows one to design wave digital filters with a reduced number of excess delays. It consists in first multiplying all impedances of the original LCโ€filter either by ฯ• = tanh (pT/2) or by 1/ฯ•, similar to what has been proposed by Bruton, although for differen
