A convenient new method for the synthesis of 2-oxazolines has been established involving the preparation of N-(2,2-dichloroethyl)amides followed by electrochemical reductive cyclizafions. It has been applied successfully in preparing pa'eviously unknown 4-a&ylamino-2-phenyl-2-oxazofines in fair to good yields.
