β¦ Synopsis
Method 1): (3a) is heated in 80 % H z S 0 4 at 150 OC for 112 h.
On cooling and dilution, ( l a ) is precipitated; it was recrystallized from H20.
Method 2): 1 g of (4a) and 2 ml of 52 % hydrazine are dissolved in alcohol; (la) is precipitated after ca. 12 h. (4a) is dissolved in hot alcohol and treated with an excess of aqueous hydrazine hydrochloride; (Sa) separates and can be recrystallized from ethanol. (6a) can be prepared in the same way as (4a), but from (4.) and hydrazine in ethanol; it was recrystallized from glacial acetic acid.
