Summary--A usual statement of an optimal control analytical design problem leads to a non-linear partial derivative equation. A special constraint on a set of feasible controls or an appropriate modification of the performance index are shown to linearize this equation and thus simplify the solution to the synthesis problem.

Cheap control problems where a small parameter t~2 multiplies the control cost are considered. Due to the cheapness of control, a strong control action in the form of high-gain feedback forces the given system to have slow and fast, low and high amplitude variations. The constrained 2D cutting stock problem is an irregular problem with dynamic data structures, highly variable amounts of computation per task, and unpredictable amounts and patterns of communication. This paper describes the design and implementation of a parallel solution to this problem on a clus
In this paper a numerical solution is obtained to the problem of minimizing an H -type cost subject to an H -norm constraint. The method employed is based on the convex alternating projection algorithm and generalizes a recent technique to the multivariable case. The solution is derived in terms of
In the article the problem of regulation of the cardiovascular system is investigated from the point of view of control process theory. This problem was reduced to finding the optimal control in the sense of speed in a bilinear system. In the first part of the article the possibility of applying Sab
