## Abstract Two novel compounds, (9__R__)‐4‐methoxy‐9__H__‐fluorene‐2,5,9‐triol (**1a**) and 2,7‐dihydroxy‐8‐methoxyphenanthro[4,5‐__bcd__]pyran‐5(5__H__)‐one (**2**) were isolated from the stems of the orchid __Dendrobium chrysotoxum__ Lindl. Their structures were established spectroscopically, by
