โฆ Synopsis
A careful rotational analysis of the ground vibrational state of the CHD 3 molecule is made on the basis of the ground state combination differences method using, as the initial information, transitions from 12 infrared absorption bands: n 3 (A 1 ), n 6 (E), n 5 (E), 2n 3 (A 1 ), 2n 6 (A 1 ), 2n 6 (E), n 3 / n 6 (E), 2n 5 (A 1 ), 2n 5 (E), n 3 / n 5 (E), n 5 / n 6 (A 1 / A 2 ), and n 5 / n 6 (E). More than 2500 ''forbidden'' transitions were used to determine the parameters C, D K , and H K . a 1 0 a 2 (K ร 3) splittings in the ground vibrational state were found and analyzed.

The rotational analysis in the ground vibrational state has been carried out for CH 3 D by using the ground state combination differences. More than 1500 allowed and 2500 forbidden transitions from the fundamental bands 3 , 5 , and 6 were used to determine 12 rotational parameters, which reproduce t
The ground state rotational spectrum has been measured from 1 to 2600 GHz. These new measurements together with the older ones have been fitted to a standard A-reduced Watson-type Hamiltonian. The accuracy of the rotational and centrifugal distortion (including some octic ones) constants has been no
The rotational structure in three fundamental bands nu3, nu5, and nu6 of 13CHD3 has been analyzed. As this study evidently is the first high-resolution investigation on the spectrum of this molecule, the determination of the ground state rotational constants was the necessary first step. The nu5 ban
