โœฆ Synopsis


A new passive aerodynamic control method is proposed. The system uses TMD mechanism to activate the control plates, which modify air#ow around the deck to stabilize bridge motion. The e!ectiveness of the proposed model is veri"ed experimentally and analytically. Additionally, various parameters of the proposed system and applicability to a long span bridge were investigated. Based on the investigation, it is found that the proposed model is very e!ective in suppressing #utter. In the analytical results, the model also shows remarkable robustness against variation of structural properties.
