✦ Synopsis

A normal phase, gradient, analytical high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the analysis of a broad range of neutral limonoids which are present in Citrus seeds. The method features high sensitivity, with better specificity and resolution of limonoids than a previous normal phase method. The chromatographic media is 5 m spherical silica and employs a gradient mixture of cyclohexane and tetrahydrofuran as the mobile phase. The method is applied to the separation of limonoids present in seeds from representative species of Citrus and Fortunella and from seeds of two Citrus/Fortunella hybrids. Analytical results of these seed samples reveal limonoid patterns of parent and progeny which indicate the potential of the method to define limonoid profiles in Citrus for use as a chemotaxonomic tool to aid plant breeders and taxonomists.

A simple and sensitive (at the ng/mL level) method for buprenorphine assay in urine is described. Buprenorphine is extracted by a C18 cartridge, derivatized with dansyl chloride, resolved by a uni-dimensional, two developing mobile phase high-performance thin layer chromatography system and quantifi
