Composite models of the pow rate and pressure projiles in moduhr intermeshing corotating and tangenital counter-rotatl'ng twin screw extruders are developed. The simulation of the intenneshing corotatl-ng machine involves both screw and kneading disc elemenb, including le$ and right-handed sections.

The flow rate against pressure curves for a modular element of a co-rotating twin extruder has been obtained through 3D simulations. Finite element technique has been employed to solve the corresponding velocity and pressure fields. The results obtained are compared with those predicted by a more si
Laminar morphology of high-density polyethylene (HDPE)/ polyamide-6 (PA-6) blends was obtained, for the first time, in a co-rotating twin screw extruder. The morphology analysis in the interior of the adapter, which connects the extruder with a slit die, revealed that, under specific processing cond
In this study, the finite element method was used to investigate the effects of screw speed, entering peroxide distribution, and pressure-to-drag flow ratio on the mixing characteristics of steady non-isothermal reactive flows in a forward conveying element of a self-wiping twin screw extruder. The
