✦ Synopsis

The present paper describes a new technique for preparing the surface of polyethylene and polypropylene plastics for the adsorption of heparin. The procedure consists of exposing the plastic surface to a solution of cationic surfactants a t a temperature close to the softening temperature of the plastic. The mechanism of adsorption of the anticoagulant of the surfaces is discussed.
