✦ Synopsis
A rew method for obtaining picosecond infrared spectra and kinetics is presented. It incorporates a tunable infrared diode laser in conjunction with two cavity-dumped dye lasers synchronously pumped by a mode-locked and Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. New results are obtained for the photodissociation of hemin and myoglobin carbonyls and for their geometric structures by means of IR-optical polarization measurements.
