Abstract

In the Li~2~Oโ€“Nb~2~O~5~โ€“TiO~2~ (LNT) system, a new dielectric ceramic composite with special structure has been found and investigated. The compound is composed of two phases, the โ€œMโ€phaseโ€ and Li~2~TiO~3~ solid solution phase. This ceramic composite has a low sintering temperature (โˆผ1100 ยฐC) and good microwave dielectric properties of high permittivity (โˆผ49), high Q ร— f value up to 9500 GHz, and small tempeโ€ rature coefficient (โˆผ22 ppm/ยฐC). Furthermore, by adding 1 wt% B~2~O~3~, the ceramic could be densified at very low sintering temperatures (โ‰ฏ900 ยฐC) and also have good microwave dielectric properties of ฯต ~r~ = 49.2, Q ร— f = 8839 GHz, which suggests that the ceramic could be a promising candidate for multilayer lowโ€temperature coโ€fired ceramics applications.
