β¦ Synopsis
A new method for the measurement of poly(ADP-ribose) is described. Poly(ADP-ribose) was separated from the bulk of cellular RNA and DNA by quantitative adsorption to dihydroxyboryl-Sepharose.
The polymer was digested with venom phosphodiesterase and bacterial alkaline phosphatase to yield the unique nucleoside 2' -+ 1" ribosyladenosine from internal residues. This nucleoside was converted by reaction with chloroacetaldehyde to a highly fluorescent I-N6-etheno derivative which was separated from interfering substances by reversed phase high-pressure liquid chromatography and picomole amounts were quantified by fluorescence. Control experiments are presented which demonstrate that the assay is highly specific for poly(ADP-ribose).

## Abstract A new nonredox fluorescent probe to realize the imaging of hydroxyl radicals (^.^OH) in living cells was designed and synthesized. The structure comprised the fluorescent dye boron dipyrromethene (BDP) and a 2,2,6,6βtetramethylβ1βpiperidinoxyl (TEMPO) unit. This probe could rapidly resp
A new method is described for assaying the ATP phosphoribosyltransferase (EC 1.4.2.17) that catalyzes the first step of histidine biosynthesis in bacterial cells. This is a highly sensitive radioassay, capable of detecting fewer than lOy molecules of enzyme. In contrast to the previously available a
This paper describes a new, inexpensive, and highly sensitive voltammetric assay for aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) activity in rat and human brains by highperformance liquid chromatography (hplc). L-Dopa was used as substrate and D-dopa for the blank. After isolating dopamine formed enz
