✦ Synopsis
A new triplet species is detected by ESR from 2-nitrobiphenyl after ultraviolet light irradiation. The zero-field splittmg parameters are 1 DI = 0.0490 cm-', 1 El = 0.0048 cm-'. The temperature dependence of the ESR spectra indicates that the triplet state observed is a ground state.
