A number of persons besides myself -Dr. R. 0. MEGARD of the University of Minnesota, Dr. N. N. SMIRNOV of the Institute for the Biology of Inland Waters at Borok, and Mr. RODNEY HARMSWORTH of Indiana University --have recently and independently observed that the head-pore configuration of Alonopsis ant-big74a LILLJEBORG is very different from that of Alonopsis elongata SARS (see FREY, 1959 and 1962, for figures of the head shield of A . elongnta and MEGARD, 1965, for A. ambiyua).
