A new chemoselective procedure for the reducfive transformation of organic azides to the corresponding N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)~tnino derivatives using triethylsilane and di-tert-butyl dic~oonate in the presence of a catalytic ~ount of 20% Degussa Pd(OH)2/C is described.
