Because of the PPVT's ease of administration t o disturbed patients, its high correlations with conventional measures of intelligence ( l ) , and its minimal emphasis on verbal responses, this test may be an exceptionally useful instrument in research studies that need to control for intelligence levels between adult schizophrenic and nonschizophrenic populations.
