✦ Synopsis
The problems caused by low NPSH at the suction inlet include cavitation, component damage and performance impairment. One way of avoiding these problems is to improve the suction performance of a pump by raising the flow pressure prior to its entry to the impeller. Dr Mouafak Zaher explains how his system of transferring the pressure energy from the delivery pipe back to the suction pipe may ultimately prove the ideal solution.
