A new series of vanadates with the general formula \(M \mathrm{Ba}_{2} \mathrm{~V}_{3} \mathrm{O}_{11}\), where \(M\) may be \(B i\), In, or a rare earth, has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction. The general formula may be
