The structure of the tensor product representation V λ 1 x ⊗ V λ 2 y of U q s l2 is investigated at roots of unity. A polynomial identity is derived as an outcome. Also, new bases of V λ 1 x ⊗ V λ 2 y are established under certain conditions.  2001
