the Asian Editor of Cryogenics, has not been in good health in recent years, and he made the decision to retire from the editorship. Professor Hirabayashi told the Executive Committee of the Cryogenic Association of Japan about his intention to retire as the Asian Editor, and recommended that I become the new Editor. The Executive Committee of the Cryogenic Association of Japan expressed their favour to support me for fulfillment of this editorship. I have been assisting the Asian Editor for many years as an International Advisory Editor, and have experienced many aspects related to journal editing from a scientific and technical point of view. Now, the contributions from Asian authors to the journal is increasing, and inevitably, I am sensible of the responsibility to increase the quality and reputation of the journal. I will appreciate the cooperation of all the authors and the readers of the journal.

Again, I would thank Professor Hirabayashi for his great contribution to Cryogenics as the Asian Editor for over 10 years.
