A new all-purpose exposure suit developed by the Air Materiel Command's Aero Medical Laboratory will keep a ditched airman afloat in water or protect him from exposure on land. The basic suit, fashioned from rip-stop nylon double coated with water impervious chloroprene weighs only 7} lb., is equipped with valves to permit plug-in for G and altitude suits. A sponge rubber closing around the neck, water sealed zipper front closing, and neoprene rubber straps at wrists effectively seal the suit against water entering these openings. Production models of the suit will be dyed high-visibility yellow.
