✦ Synopsis

A new approach, the constant reduced Hessian matrix (CRHM) algorithm for the online security constrained economic dispatch (OSED) problem, is presented in this paper. The proposed method, in which repeating the A C load flow program has been avoided, satisfies both load flow equations and security limits exactly. The computational speed and the excellent convergence of this algorithm are demonstrated by applying it to a sample system.
