β¦ Synopsis
two-phase continuum description of reinforced soil structures is proposed in which the soil mass and the reinforcement network are treated as mutually interacting superposed media.
The equations governing such a model are developed in the context of elastoplasticity, with special emphasis put on, the soil/reinforcement interaction constitutive law. As shown in an illustrative example, such a model paves the way for numerically efficient design methods of reinforced soil structures.

A multiphase model, developed in the context of elastoplasticity, is applied to the simulation and design of reinforced earth retaining structures. The main feature of this model is to combine the advantage of a homogenization approach, as regards its computational efficiency, with the ability to ac
## Abstract A chemoβplastic constitutive model for partially saturated soils is proposed in this paper based on the existing models developed in Hueckel (__Int. J. Numer. Anal. Meth. Geomech.__ 1997; **21**:43β72) and Gallipoli __et al__. (__Geotechnique__ 2003; **53**:123β135). The chemical soften
In this paper, the settlement analysis of the raft foundation of a sugar silo founded on a cemented clayey soil deposit is re-examined by using an advanced constitutive model for natural soils recently published in the literature. The model, combining a kinematic hardening framework with a bounding
