✦ Synopsis
In developing a fuzzy inference system to construct several configurations for mapping programs to parallel machines, we have addressed some aspects that are not usually present in fuzzy knowledge based systems. On the one hand, the system should deliver several elements of the reference set instead of a single one, and on the other, some of the rules used to express the knowledge need to know about the conclusions of other rules (requiring some chaining between rules).
In this paper, we describe our system, giving special emphasis to the problems encountered and the solutions developed to overcome these problems.
