✦ Synopsis

The proposed PBG structure appears to be a promising solution to avoid surface-wave modes in patch antenna configurations. Improvements in input return loss, directivity, bandwidth, and radiation pattern have been reported. Future applications based on this PBG structure using other feeding techniques are under study.
