Experimental Section
Si(OMej, (1.83 g) and 3~ KOH (4 mL) were added to a solution of x-cyclodextrin (1.32g) in water (10 mL). and ethanol vapor was allowed to diffuse into the sohtion. Small. colorless platelets formed in the course of a few days. Crystal plates of higher quality and size were obtained by heating the solution prior to ethanol diffusion to 140 C for 1 d.
