A modified precipitation chromatography method for the fractionation of polymers has been designed. The method works without elution gradient and only with periodical temperature cycles put on the entire column. The difference in temperatures is held constant; the overall temperature, however, increases according to an arranged programme. The efficiency of this method is verified by the fractionation of a high mol. wt. specimen of poly(methyl methacrylate).
