✦ Synopsis

The early days of low temperature detectors are an entanglement between particle physics, astronomy and lowtemperature physics. They are traced from 1903 to the first of the LTD meetings, ''LTD-zero'', which took place at the Groupe de Physique des Solides in Paris, in April 1983.
