✦ Synopsis


Two-dimensional electron lattices supported by a helium film on a rough substrate are pinned by variations in the underlying image potential. The strength of the pinning potential is varied by changing the film thickness. The finite-frequency conduction properties and current noise spectrum of this system are reported. They are qualitatively identical to those of pinned charge-density waves in other systems.
