Although
ISDN technology has often been touted as the networking technique of the future, its adoption rate has not seen as high as expected.
This study develops and tests a model that determines the significant ISDN and organizational characteristics that influence the adoption decision. Business Week 1,000 corporations were surveyed to determine their views on ISDN. The results indicate that this technology is most likely to be adopted by open, dynamic organizations that are conducive to change. However, most of these organizations still fail to utilize ISDN effectively.
