โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper we describe a method for explanation generation in financial knowledge-based systems. The underlying financial model consists of a mixture of quantitative and qualitative relations. The method described can be embedded in a theory of scientific explanation. In a case-study we compare textbook analyses with the output of a program which implements our theory of explanation.
