✦ Synopsis

A hierarchy of hydrodynamic and quasi-hydrodynamic models for semiconductors and plasmas is introduced. The various model equations are obtained from the transient Euler-Poisson system in the zero-electron-mass limit, the zero-relaxationtime limit and the zero-Debye-length limit. Some results of the rigorous justification of these limits are presented.
