✦ Synopsis


Non-linear electric properties of atoms and molecules can be determined by computing the second-order polarizabilities from the analytic perturbation equations, numerically modified by the presence of an additional finite field. The scheme is applied in a test calculation of the He atom hyperpolarizabilities, ~(0; 0, 0, 0) and y( --w; w, 0,O).
