Abstract

A sensitive and objective microassay has been developed for detection of antibodies against tumor‐associated antigens of murine sarcoma cells, by measuring the ability of cells to incorporate ^3^H‐thymidine after exposure to immune serum and complement. The cytotoxic effect detected by this method reflects cytostasis as well as cell death. This study also demonstrated that incubation periods longer than 4 h are required for the maximum cytotoxic effects of immune sera on sarcoma cells to become manifest.
