A sensitive radiochemical assay is described for the assay ofacetoacetyl-CoA synthetase activity in cytosolic extracts. Enzyme activity is measured by the incorporation of '% from acetoacetate into acetyl camitine as mediated by acetoacetyl-CoA synthetase, endogenous acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, and ex
