Specific immunofluorescence (IF) staining is helpful and often decisive in diagnosis of deep mycoses by examination of host tissue sections. Brightness of fluorescence may be significantly enhanced by prior digestion of tissues with trypsin, but the treatment tends to separate sections from slides.
