✦ Synopsis

A method is described for the elimination of the intense equatorial maximum due to carbon fibre in the wide angle X-ray diffraction pattern from composite material such as APC-2. A specially prepared sample is required in which the fibres are aligned within the range 45-90 ° to the specimen surface.
