✦ Synopsis

A method for detection of faulty elements in antenna arrays from far-field radiation pattern is presented. The proposed technique finds variation of current from correct values in the faulty elements. A step wise approach is proposed to determine magnitude and phase of current excitation and location of faulty element using neural networks. The results with radial basis function neural network and probabilistic neural network are compared. V

A three-step array-synthesis method based on neural networks is presented. ## Abstract Process fault detection and diagnosis is an important problem in plant control at the supervisory level. It is the central component of abnormal event management which has attracted a lot of attention recently. In this study, the use of artificial neural networks (ANN) for fault detecti

A neural network-based approach is presented for the detection of changes in the characteristics of structure-unknown systems. The approach relies on the use of vibration measurements from a 'healthy' system to train a neural network for identification purposes. Subsequently, the trained network is

Microfracturing of rock is a complicated damage evolution process. Inaccurate prediction of microfracturing behaviours suggests a need for the development of a better modelling method. Analysis of acoustic emission (AE) measurements in double-torsion tests indicates that micro-fracturing behaviours

In the prediction of future economic indicators, periodic and long-term components are often separately handled in a pre-divided form. We propose a network model that can identify the two parts simultaneously. To improve the generalization ability beyond that offered by conventional multilayer netwo
