✦ Synopsis

A new method for "cooperative decision making" between physicians and patients during medical decision process is created. MAU (Multi-Attribute Utility) Model and Fuzzy logic for medical decision making is combined. Patients and physicians can negotiate with each other and come out with acceptable solution for medical treatment decision. Both of patient and physician would tradeofftheir values to reach consensus in choosing medical treatment alternatives. This method can also be generalized to those decision processes involving an expert and a novice. The combined decision model would improve the quality of cooperative decision making.
