✦ Synopsis
The complex relaxation modulus of polyolefins can be closely analytically described in the glass-rubber transition by using an equation with four constants and one variable. From this equation, the real relaxation modulus E,~ and the distribution of relaxation times H,~ can be derived through some approximations or inversion formulae. This procedure can be extended to complex materials like polyolefin blends and statistical copolymers of :t-olefins and permits one to predict their mechanical behaviour over large ranges of composition and temperature.
