✦ Synopsis

A mathematical model for endothelial cell migration during tumour-induced angiogenesis is presented. A possible explanation, in terms of desensitisation of cell-surface receptors, is given for the experimentally observed fact that without cell proliferation tumour vaseularisation is never achieved.
