✦ Synopsis

The application of the edge-punched card in taxonomy is briefly summarised. The data of a systematic description of a relatively small cassava collection are used to demonstrate the use of these cards in the detection of duplicates, in more complicated queries and for simple statistical analysis. A comparison is made with the 'peek-a-boo' system.
